More details:

On Saturday I’ll be celebrating the music of Anne Vanschothorst. Anne is a Dutch composer and harpist who writes beautiful minimalist music. A few years ago she published five of her compositions in a book called “A Bird Came Flying“. That was how I connected with her. I recorded a video of the title song (A Bird Came Flying) and later did a Harp Tuesday episode on it.

Anne recently released a new music book called “Three Prayers” which features three harp solos inspired by poetry of Danny Danker.

I was thrilled and honoured that Anne has chosen to dedicate the music book to me:
ThreePrayers

I hope you’ll join me on Saturday as I perform some of her music!

And then on Sunday I’ll be doing a concert similar to what I did last time. Here’s what I’m planning to play:

Josh Layne – Poem for solo harp

Prokofiev – Prelude Op 12, No. 7

J.S. Bach – Fugue No. 4 in C sharp minor

Grandjany – Rhapsodie

I’ll be posting more details soon – I hope you’ll plan to spend some time with me this weekend!
