I wanted to share some upcoming concert dates. The last two years I’ve toured Europe in the fall but this year I’m working on a European tour for Spring of 2018 and instead I have fall concerts on Vancouver Island and near Washington, DC.

Here’s what I’m playing at my solo concerts this fall:

Deborah Henson-Conant (1953- ) – Baroque Flamenco
Carlos Salzedo (1885-1961) – Chanson dans la Nuit
Claude Debussy (1862-1918) trans. Marcel Grandjany – Clair de Lune
Josh Layne (1977- ) – Forgotten Summer (2017)
Ekaterina Walter-Küne (1870-1930) – Fantaisie on themes from Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin

Intermission

J.S Bach (1685-1750) trans. Josh Layne/Louis Brassin – Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565
Nino Rota (1911-1979) – Sarabanda e Toccata (1945)
Felix Godefroid (1818-1897) – La Danse des Sylphes

I start things off with a solo concert at 2:30 pm, Sunday, September 24th in Qualicum Beach, BC, at the “Old School House Arts Centre” as part of their concert series. A nice article about the concert in the local paper.

Then I’ll be performing as a soloist with the Victoria Chamber Orchestra, playing Debussy’s Danses Sacrée et Profane at 8 pm on Friday, October 20th at First Church of Christ, Scientist, 1205 Pandora, Victoria, BC. I love the Debussy Danses – I played them for the first time with Yariv Aloni and the Victoria Chamber Orchestra over 20 years ago – can’t wait to play them again :) I’ll also be playing the wonderful harp part to Vaughan Williams Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus on the same concert.

I’ll be performing a solo concert at 2:30pm, on Saturday, October 28th in Victoria, BC, at St. Luke’s Church, 3821 Cedar Hill X Rd.

I’m attending the Camac Harp Festival in Washington, DC (well, actually in Alexandria) the weekend of November 3-5, just for fun! Should be a great weekend :)

And afterwards I’ll be doing a masterclass and solo concert for the Washington, DC, American Harp Society chapter on Monday, November 6th. The masterclass starts at 4:30pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church (8424 Piney Orchard Parkway, Odenton, Maryland

And finally I’ll be playing in Lumberon, North Carolina, on Tuesday, November 7th. 7pm, Trinity Episcopal Church, 1202 N Chestnut St. Lumberton, NC
