I’m thrilled to announce the final two videos of Harpist in the Wild season 6: Duets!
Season 6 has featured duets that I recorded during my 2023 European adventures. I posted the last of those recordings, a duet with Rafaela Schützner of Deborah Henson-Conant’s beautiful The Nightingale, back in October of 2024.
Well, while I was in Europe this past year I had the chance to film with Rafaela again on two different occasions. It’s taken awhile to put these videos together but now I’m ready to release them, and they will form the final two episodes of season 6!
The first of these videos is a magical lullaby called Sleepsong by Secret Garden. We filmed this in a field of lavender back in September of 2024. I hope you will enjoy this beautiful and peaceful song.
A steady release schedule!
I’ve been busy doing a bunch of filming and have a weekly music video planned for at least the next two months. Here’s my planned schedule:
March 1: Episode 8 of Harpist in the Wild: Duets. She Moved Through the Fair with Rafaela Schützner
March 8: Bach’s Toccata and Fugue from a performance during my 2024 European tour
March 15 – April 19: Weekly releases of all 6 pieces from my book Baroque Music for Pedal Harp
And more to follow, including season 7 of Harpist in the Wild – which will feature footage filmed in Australia and New Zealand during my 2024 tour there!
Recent Harp Tuesday episodes
I bought a new harp on boxing day! I posted an episode talking about how to regulate it.
Then an episode on musical phrasing, as I worked on refining the ending of the Aria from Bach’s Goldberg Variations. I always love talking about phrasing!
That was followed by a look at using left hand muffling to help keep a clean sound…
And just earlier this week I talked a bit about how our mind can sometimes get in the way of learning!
I hope you’ll enjoy all these new music videos coming your way! I’ll write again soon.
As always, thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Josh
PS Harpist in the Wild turned 4 this Thursday – I published the first ever episode on February 20th, 2021! If you’re feeling nostalgic, take a trip back in time with a re-watch of season 1…
