Learn “The Skye Boat Song”
Join me every Sunday in July, 2026, to learn my arrangement of The Skye Boat Song.
My arrangement offers a chance to work on ornaments and grace notes, arpeggios, some large rolled chords, some percussive sounds on the harp, some music theory and chord structure, and lots more!
At the end of this four week session you should have a good grasp of the piece, plus skills that you can carry over and apply to other pieces.
The details:
- COST? $80 USD, sheet music included.
♪ - WHEN? Every Sunday in July! July 5, 12, 19, 26. A 1 hour Zoom session starting at 1pm PDT / 4pm EDT / 10pm CEST.
♪ - REPLAY AVAILABLE? Yes! There will be replays available of all the sessions so if you can’t make it live, no problem.
♪ - WHAT LEVEL? My arrangement is about a grade 4 level and fits quite nicely under the hands. I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner but if you’re reasonably comfortable reading sheet music and playing with all four fingers I think you’ll be able to tackle it!
♪ - WHAT SIZE HARP? The arrangement is written in the key of G (1 sharp) and has no lever changes. A 34 string harp is needed to play it as written – you could certainly make adaptations to try and fit it on a smaller harp, but life will be easiest if you at least have the low G two octaves below middle C (G2).

In my arrangement I try and capture what the words are saying in each iteration of the four verses – a fun arranging challenge and it means each verse offers something new to learn!
