Bach and Butterflies



Harpist/composer Josh Layne presents an evening of music ranging from Bach to the world premiere of his composition "Cotton Butterfly" (for harp and double-bass).

Joining Josh for Cotton Butterfly as well as Arvo Pärt's Spiegel im Spiegel is Vancouver bassist/composer Mark Haney.  The concert promises to be an unforgettable evening of music!

The concert is at 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 1st at the Truth Centre, 1201 Fort Street, Victoria, BC (Canada).  Tickets are $12/$10 and are available at the door.  Email info@joshlayne.com for more information

Harpist/composer Josh Layne has been called a 'harp genius' and a 'consummate musician'.  As a performer he has given solo recitals across Canada, the US, and in Europe as well as giving performances of five of the major harp concertos.  His performance of the cadenza from Handel's Concerto for Harp has received over 100,000 views on YouTube.  Josh has been praised for both his virtuosity and the sensitivity of his playing.  He has released three CDs of solo harp music, with a fourth in the works for 2013.





Mark Haney has been attached to a double bass for 20 years, and there are no indications he will escape anytime soon. During that time Mark has been fortunate enough to perform across Canada with a wide variety of artists and groups enabling him to explore Canada’s vast terrain, both musical and physical.
