I love this album which features Couperin’s Le Dodo and Les Barricades Mystérieuses.

There are many different ideas as to what exactly Couperin was referring to in his title Les Baricades Mistérieuses – here’s an explanation I quite like.

The concept of inégales/inequality is a fascinating aspect of French Baroque. While to the best of my knowledge it’s not necessarily called for in Les Baricades Mistérieuses, here’s an intriguing performance that utilizes it in many spots.
