I sent out my February email newsletter earlier this week – you can read it below, and if you’re not on my list sign up here!
Hello everyone,
It’s been awhile since I last wrote – hope you’re enjoying a great start to 2016!
First and foremost, for those of you who in the area I wanted to let you know that I’m performing a solo concert in San Jose (California) this weekend – Feb. 27th, to be exact! Get all the details on my blog!
This concert come about in kind of a neat way – on the first leg of my flight to Europe last fall I was studying a music score and the passenger next to me asked if I was a musician. Turns out that he is not only a singer and conductor, but also runs a concert series. We’ve been in touch since then, he had a cancellation, and now I’m flying down this weekend to perform!
A New Year’s Improvisation
Early in January I happened to have my mic running and captured this 3 minute improv session:
Harp Tuesday episode 100!
Also in early January, I uploaded the 100th episode of Harp Tuesday! 100 is a big number – I feel proud of all the work that encompasses, and thankful for all of you who have come along for the ride :)
For this episode I chose to talk about a subject I’d been thinking about for awhile – buying a harp:
Fantasy on Greensleeves – the lever harp version
Tomorrow I will hopefully upload the last episode of my look at the lever harp version of my “Fantasy on Greensleeves“. Here are the episode so far:
And finally, I’m still working on some of the video footage from my European trip – here’s an interview I did with the very inspiring Tajana Vukelić Peić, the creator of the Zagreb International Harp Festival
That’s it for now – I’ll leave you with a picture from a few days ago:
Cheers,
Josh
